Humphrey spent 3 years as a Gurkha officer in the Far East before returning to University to study Architecture at UCL where he obtained a first class degree. He then spent a number of years working as an Associate for three London based practices before joining what is now The Santon Group in 2000. During an initial 18 month role as an architect, Humphrey successfully obtained planning permission on a variety of sites throughout the UK including the conversion of a Nottingham city centre office block to residential, a listed Sheffield hospital conversion to residential, a new build mixed use scheme in central Birmingham and the planning and a conversion of a portfolio of 12 central London pubs into various uses including retail, restaurant and new build residential.
Humphrey became a land buyer in 2003 responsible for purchasing, funding, planning and developing a variety of sites which included Fort Augustus Abbey on Loch Ness where he continues as Managing Director of The Highland Club project. From 2007 to 2009 he was also employed by Raven Mount PLC.
In 2007, Humphrey became co-head of Raven Resorts specialising in purchasing land overseas to develop in partnership with high end hotel operators. Humphrey brings much expertise regarding planning, design, residential and hotel developments.
